Summer goes by so quickly. I thought when I finished school I would finally have time to work out, read, play my guitar... and I do. A little. Here and there. But we have hardly had a night to sit down and do nothing. Here are a few reasons why we've been so busy:
I've worked with Eric a few times at The Mug now, and it is a blast! It's been really busy the whole month of July, and Eric is there pretty much everyday. Mom and Kelli came out two weekends ago to visit and we spent most of our Saturday up there.
We became aware that "tiger's blood" is a mix of something
and coconut. Boo. Everybody loves it so I told Kelli to try it and it was a travesty. How do so many people enjoy coconut?!The hotdogs are delicious and the help are sweet as pie.
Another part of being busy is our one night a week bowling league. If you have the means, I highly recommend joining one. Ours is a very casual league, thankfully. We are doing really well, I think our team has only lost twice out of ten or so weeks so far. We want to win! Though I don't even know how to win... there might be a tournament, but I think the whole thing counts... We have so much fun doing it.

Word of advice: Don't play James Bond with Lisa and Kelli, they will dominate you. In our spare time lately we play cards, particularly Nertz which we recently discovered.
Another thing that has kept us busy this summer is reading, and I do mean us. Eric has read more books this summer than I have! He has been wanting to start reading for a while, and started with a book by Phil Jackson, the Lakers' head coach. Then he read The Hunger Games, and obviously followed with Catching Fire. You have to read them if you haven't! They are good for every type of person. I've been reading The Grapes of Wrath all summer, it is slow but Steinbeck is a genius.
We've spent a lot of time cruising around in our new Jeep! We have been talking about getting a second car since we have been a "you and me", but we just liked the cheapness of one car. We looked for a long time and I'm so glad we settled on our Wrangler, it is a blast. Literally. The wind blasts the heck out of you so don't even think about riding with us without a hairtie and a headband. I thought of this while looking at this picture because of mine and Mom's hair. We rock the windblown look all the time now.
We were also very busy trying to teach Kelli to drive our Jeep, because it is a manual. Bwa ha ha it is so fun to teach someone, no matter who, no matter what type of car. She did really well, she started up just fine, it was the shifting that was the problem:). Mom and Kelli left Tuesday, we pre-bowled Wednesday, and Thursday we left for Colorado for my mom's 50.5 Birthday bash.
Her birthday is in January and she wanted a party in the summer when everyone could come. So we came and we conquered.
Most of the immediate family attended, and we had a really good weekend. It was nonstop. We returned late Sunday night, and Eric's parents were already in town. Eric got to hang out with them on Monday and that night we went and saw Inception. We had a great time with them but it was too short!
We looked forward to a quiet weekend at home, but then we had the opportunity present itself to go to the Tim McGraw concert on Friday. So we went! We sat waaaaay up at the top of the lawn but it was nice. However, the traffic to get there was not. It took us about two hours to drive the 5 miles to the ampitheater off of the interstate, and we missed Lady Antebellum.
The concert was worth it and we had plenty of time to relax the rest of the weekend. Eric broke down and got a haircut, even though he never wanted to cut his hair again when it started growing back. He feels good, and so far no growth in his neck that we can feel. Summer has been wonderful, but we're starting to get excited for Fall and everything that comes with it too!
looks so fun!
