my weekend with mo

"What the... you're NOT my MOM..."
"Oh. It's okay, you're my Aunt Holly!"

Dressed and ready to go on Friday. Check out the kicks.

Everytime I turned around she had stole another apple from our box of apples we keep on the floor... hmmm.  I kept putting it on the counter and Eric kept moving it back to the floor.

Trying to make her feel at home by eating breakfast on Saturday. A tradition for the Guz  Fam.

Saturday

"Is that me?"

"It is me! Yay!"

As only babies do, she somehow figured out how to change the camera on  my phone to all white. But look at those pretty blue eyes.
Sunday Morning Nap.

My living room last night. This may not seem disastrous to others but it gave me major anxiety. She was all over the place that night.

...so obviously I gave her an otter pop to calm her down.
I loved my weekend playing mommy. It was hard and she is amazing and even though I'm grateful for my free schedule tonight and sleeping in, I was really grateful for this time to play like I'm a mom.

  1. She sure does love you. We're grateful that we got a weekend to ourselves. Also, I wish I could take a picture of my living room right now so you can see what mine looks like every. single. day. Haha sorry about that, but not really.

I had a baby.

It's a boy. I actually came to blogger to write about something else, but then I realized I haven't announced that I did, in fact, birth my child, and he did, in fact, make it here, which I'm not making light of. It is a fact I repeat to myself often. He is here, we made it. I am his mother and Eric is his father. He is a person and he learns every day. While it is easy to see him for what he is most right now, which is CUTE , he is also mellow and funny and happy, observant and sometimes timid, and sometimes noisy, aware and eager to grow. It is an amazingly wonderful and spiritual thing and I'm grateful every day for my son and the opportunity to raise him each day. I have had too many close to home tragedies recently to take this for granted. My dear neighbor and friend lost her son at 4 years old, an unexplainable accident that took him home to Heavenly Father. Another, my sister's closest friend, lost her son at 39 weeks pregnant, his body born to his famil...

If You Know Hospitals...

... then you might have suspected how much our plans would change this week. Yesterday Eric went in for the bone marrow biopsy and they decided to keep him overnight and do the PT Scan as well. This was a change of plans we welcomed, despite the fact that I had to stay home while he stayed up there. We are very grateful that they did both procedures yesterday, so that hopefully we will know everything by tomorrow (again, here I am, trying to make plans!). They only biopsied one hip, and the only part that hurt was the needle to numb him, "like a hundred bee stings" I believe he said. Then Peggy and Eric waited in the waiting room until they fixed the scan machine and he was admitted to a room: the exact same room as the one we stayed in over Thanksgiving, in fact. One of the nurses didn't even know he'd left! We have a few updates on the condition of his cancer. First, they have narrowed it down to two types of lymphoma: Hodgkin or PTCL. We are hoping it is Hodgkin, b...

Pictures from the Cruise

To accompany the last post. And Eric is the best for sending me the pics! Because they are great. It's just from the zip lining in Ensenada but it was so fun. Just off the ship in Ensenada. The whole group. Love being a part of this family! Getting geared up. Literally.  Don't be fooled. I was petrified at this point. This is Dave and Katie but it's the best showing of the first bridge. Eric about to cross the first bridge. I think this was the 3rd one. This was the easiest, I thought. Even though I look a little off balanced here. This is Katie. But this one was actually the hardest I thought, because you had to reach so high. My shoulder killed for like 4 days after this. Oh, and how about an actual zip line?! Doesn't look fast, but it was. It shows the distance really well, though. Eric had had enough and decided to take over the mic for the duration of the "tour"
