If you haven't looked at KSL, NBCsports, Seth Davis' tweets, ESPN blogs, or various other sources this week then you missed what's been going on in our life.
This week a girl named Michelle wrote in to the Daily Universe condemning those of us that are in love with BYU basketball and the glorious Jimmer Fredette ("Cut it out with the Jimmer worship. Last time I checked, idol worship was very much frowned upon in the scriptures"). Ba ha ha ha! We read this article and were so amused we decided to go look her up on facebook. When I looked her status had 13 comments about Jimmer--- but by the next morning it had hundreds of comments.
Eric decided to make a video response to invite Michelle to the remainder of the home games for BYU. Jeff recorded, Eric begged, and the video exploded along with the rest of the Michelle got Jimmered fiasco. In the first 24 hours, Eric's youtube had roughly 25,000 hits. Yeah, not 2,500, 25,000. We just died laughing. Funniest thing ever. My favorite article is the SEC article (the one labelled various other sources above), because everyone stayed clean and harmless in their comments and no one attacked her personally. That kind of stuff is important to me and I know Eric wouldn't have joined in if it wasn't the case. The video as of right now has 41,494 hits. I can't help but laugh even as I am writing this.
Everywhere we have gone this week people recognize Eric. He was at lunch with the BYU athletic department big wigs and a couple people walked by. The stopped and said, "hey you're that youtube kid!" everyone at the table laughed. One of them there laughed that out of all the people there, he is the one that people recognize. I was at Del Taco for lunch with him and some guys in line did the same thing.
He also made a live appearance on KBYU Friday afternoon to talk about the controversy. I seriously wish I could explain the amount of amusement that Eric brings to my life. But that is what we have been living and breathing this week.
Yep. That's it. That's the news. And I can't get the video to embed in my blog for some reason. So here, click the link.

p.s. all of the links in this post do link directly to the articles that involve Eric's video, so you can watch it from any of them, and read all about the drama.
