Day 1, March 16th.
The room is great because they change the air completely 6 times an hour. Seriously they do. Alright you can't tell, but still it's comforting to know that the air your breathing is so fresh and so clean clean. It's strange because we arrived and got settled and they say, okay you have chemo at 12... so we'll see you then. Then they leave and you are free to just do whatever you want, just have to stay here. Eric has compared it to prison and/or the MTC.

Eric was really proud of how much he peed here.
He is on the chemo now, it's a 4 hour one today, the rest of them will be 2 hours, and that lasts for the next 5 or 6 days. After that it's transplant time, but we'll blog then to update rather than now when I really still don't know exactly what it will be like for him. I'm trying to convince Eric to blog so if you want to hear directly from him you should raise your hand (symbolically, i.e. comment) and tell him so that we can convince him to write one himself!
He finished the chemo and it rocked his body. Now that it is over he feels like he could handle it again, but when it was happening he told me he was a goner.

Day 2, March 17th.
I wasn't up at the hospital all day, but I am here as I'm writing tonight. Eric had a really good day, at least busy. He didn't sleep well last night, finally fell asleep, but woke up half hour later to get his vitals etc. at 4a.m. Then he had chemo at 9 and 10 a.m., puked up the pills he took right before and had to retake them. They give massages dailiy so he got his first one today, took a shower (which they encourage daily but easier said then done). Physical therapy, ate dinner, biked for a bit, Jeff came up and visited; today was packed. Oh! And he did his brackets. He felt good just getting things done.
He wore his green shirt today which I loved. No reason not to be normal, even if the only ones who see it are the nurses. They appreciate it!

We'll try to blog as often as we can. Honestly, we're just so tired!!! But we can't wait for the BYU game tomorrow. Go Cougs!! love 'em. they're gonna win tomorrow. I'll add a few more pictures tomorrow when I get my camera cord.
I vote that Eric has to blog. Next up on the to-do list: install the Google Chat Video plugin!
ReplyDeleteYou two are the best! Cade and I have been thinking about you all week and look forward to more positive updates. Keep strong you two!
ReplyDeleteYes Eric...Blog away! I think you could "fit it into your busy schedule" to tell us how you are doing. (like how I quoted Dad in that?!?)
ReplyDeleteLove ya...See you tomorrow!
Lisa
I vote both blog :) Holly will you text me and let me know when good visiting hours are? We want to come down soon!
ReplyDeleteI would love for Eric to blog, but I can understand if he feels intimidated by the chance that his entries would be compared to yours....come on, Mr. Competitor, you can blog just as well as that beautiful wife of yours! I'm throwing down the gauntlet!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how the cancer that is getting pulverized out of Eric's body would blog? It would probably be like a doomsday blog. There would be lots of cursing, inappropriate comments and maybe some tacky racial slurs, because the S.O.B is checking out for good.
ReplyDeleteI totally want to hear Eric's point of view! Mainly because he's one of the funniest people that I know.
